Born and raised in suburban Detroit, Jaime Pfeffer is one of Detroit’s biggest cheerleaders. Currently employed in the financial services industry by day, she moonlights as a freelance writer and plans to begin a fulltime career as a writer in March 2007. Jaime got acquainted with Detroit after completing an undergraduate degree in Business Administration. She has lived in Detroit since 2004 – first on the 25th floor of an apartment building in the Central Business District, now in a high rise on the East Riverfront. She started up a blog, Girl in the D, in September 2004 to highlight positive happenings in Detroit, and completed her Master's thesis, "Growth Opportunities for the City of Detroit", along with a Master's Degree in Business Administration, in December 2004. Along with continuing to explore Detroit, she spent much of the next year planning her wedding; she was married in 2006 at the Detroit Yacht Club. Aside from continuing to spread the word about Detroit on Girl in the D, Jaime is a volunteer author and co-captain of Metroblogging Detroit, a local team-blog. This year, she also became editor of Detroit Living, City Living Detroit’s annual magazine.
