The non-profit Detroit RiverFront Conservancy was formed in 2003 with the mission of bringing public access to Detroit’s Riverfront and serving as a catalyst for economic development in the city. The ultimate vision is to develop five and a half miles of riverfront from the Ambassador Bridge to just east of the MacArthur (Belle Isle) Bridge.
Thanks to the strength of our public/private partnership, the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy celebrates the successful completion of three miles of development on the east Riverfront, including pavilions, plazas, parks and green space, all connected by the ever popular RiverWalk. Already it is becoming an extension of Detroiters’ backyards and a not-to-be-missed destination for visitors.
